A HERITAGE WE CAN BE PROUD OF...

Beef Stroganoff is a classic Russian dish that has evolved into an international favourite. Originating in mid-19th century Russia, the dish is traditionally made with sautéed beef strips, onions, and mushrooms in a rich sour cream-based sauce.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g Beef strips

  • 1 Punnet mushrooms, sliced

  • ½ Onion, diced

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic

  • 1 IMANA Cream Of Mushroom Flavoured Soup

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 ½ tsp Sage

  • 1/3 cup sour cream

  • Salt and pepper (To taste)

METHOD

  1. Add a dash of oil to a pan and warm over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion and cook until translucent. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant for 1 - 2 minutes.

  3. Add the beef strips and brown on all sides but do not cook fully (they will finish cooking in the sauce). Turn off the heat while you prepare the sauce.

  4. In a measuring cup, combine the IMANA Cream Of Mushroom Flavoured Soup powder with the boiling water. Once combined, add Worcestershire Sauce and sage and mix.

  5. Pour the soup mixture into the pan with the beef strips and continue to cook over medium heat for around 5 minutes.

  6. Once the strips are cooked to your preference, turn off the heat and add the sour cream and stir until combined.

  7. Serve with a side of your choice and enjoy!
